Panafcon was awarded Consultancy Services for carrying out Resettlement Action Plan Study for the proposed 132Kv Transmission Line from Machakos to Namanga covering a total distance of 151km. The Transmission Line has a wayleave corridor of 30m wide.
The RAP Study involved carrying out census survey to identify Project Affected Persons (PAPs) by the type of loss (land, structures and Trees) and extent of damage, consult with potential PAPs to ensure adequate dissemination of information on the project and its impacts; categorize entitled persons (EPs) according to the eligibility criteria of the resettlement & rehabilitation (R&R) policy of the project and work out compensation entitlements for each EP; and set out the legal and institutional frameworks for implementation of the RAP as well as the budget and timeline.
A RAP Study Report was prepared containing names and details of PAPs, land and affected property and the associated value (in Kenya Shillings) of each item (land and property) and submitted to the Client for execution (payment of compensation and resettlement of the PAPs).
